“An update on our ability to prescribe Wegovy and Zepbound”

Hello Everyone,

I know you have all been patiently waiting for an update since semaglutide was removed from the FDA shortage list. You have all been very patient and gracious, and I appreciate that. This has been several weeks coming, but I know you all understand that it took a great deal to come up with a replacement for your semaglutide, while making it as affordable as possible. I have the information on 1 of the options that I am hoping will work out for everyone. I also included the self-pay cost of Wegovy/Zepbound if anyone is interested in going that route.

Liraglutide/Pramlintide Combination injection      $375 per month.
This is a daily injection rather than a weekly injection.
Liraglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist, just as semaglutide is. It works in the same fashion to curb appetite, slow digestion and boost insulin secretion
Pramlintide is an analogue of the hormone Amylin. It enhances satiety (makes you feel more full) and stabilizes blood sugar.
It will be the same 12-week round as we did before. I tried very hard to keep it at $350 per month, but just could not.

Dulaglutide/Pramlintide Combination injection- this is a weekly injection and is coming. But it is not quite available yet.

Branded Wegovy direct from Novo Nordisk or Zepbound direct from Eli Lilly

Wegovy- $100 office visit each month to send prescriptions, and to manage your care, and $499 a month you would pay directly to Novo Nordisk. These prices are set by Novo Nordisk. They do not have the same patient-specific dosing that we have done in the past. They have 5 dosage strengths, and you would have to use one of those.

Zepbound- $100 office copay visit each month to send prescription, and to manage your care, and $499 a month you pay directly to Eli Lilly. These prices are set by Eli Lilly. They require you to have a new prescription sent each month, and if you are late, they increase your cost to $699 per month permanently. This is to prevent custom dosing that we have always done at Her Clinic.

You may still see providers selling semaglutide or tirzepatide. Once their stock is gone, they are supposed to stop. If you want to proceed with your weight loss journey, please call and schedule an appointment. 850-855-4069.

Sincerely,
  Lavonne Downing MSN, APRN, WHNP-BC
